Ahmir Alexander Frazier Obituary, Cause of Death – 17-Year-Old Killed in Saginaw Shooting

SAGINAW, Mich. — The Saginaw community is mourning the tragic death of 17-year-old Ahmir Alexander Frazier, who was fatally shot Sunday night in Saginaw, according to police.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, to the area of Lyon Street and South Harrison Street following a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Frazier suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Frazier succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police confirmed that Frazier’s next of kin has been notified.

Homicide Investigation Underway

The Saginaw Police Department and detectives from the Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are investigating the teenager’s death as a homicide.

No arrests had been made at the time of the police department’s announcement.
